What IS Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a relaxed state of concentration. The subconscious comes to the fore and the conscious is “pushed back”. Of course, this is a very simplified explanation; In reality, very complex processes happen in the brain during hypnosis.
Each person is under hypnosis at least twice a day: just before they wake up and just before they fall asleep, during the alpha phase. However, hypnosis is by no means to be compared with sleep or even fainting – because in sleep we are not able to react as we do in hypnosis.
So hypnosis is a completely natural state.
Will I Lose Control Or Reveal Secrets During Hypnosis?
n the state of hypnosis one is anything but mindless; if a fire breaks out, for example, one would notice this immediately even during a deep phase and leave the room.
The same would apply if the hypnotherapist asked or suggested you do something against your will: one would be able to intervene at any time.
You don’t reveal secrets that you wouldn’t tell under normal circumstances. The brain by no means stops functioning during hypnosis. You are always able to make your own decisions.
In reality, thanks to hypnosis, you can discover truths about yourself that have long been hidden in the subconscious. It is conceivable that unpleasant things come to the surface – but because they come to light, your subconscious can no longer play with them. Actually, this is exactly the goal of therapy: It can solve many problems.
What If I Don't Want To Be Hypnotized?
No problem, because then the hypnotherapy will not work at all! Not even the best hypnotherapist can not do anything if you have a defensive or even negative attitude towards this therapy. Nobody can be hypnotized against their will. For it to work, the hypnotherapist and his client must work together.
Can Anyone Be Hypnotized?
Yes, we all experience it every day. It is a completely natural state. Wgen we are waking up or just before going to sleep that hazy time is natural hypnosis.
When you lose time and sense of where you are when you are driving your car but arrive home safe and sound although you mind has been elsewhere the whole time, that’s hypnosis. Even something as simmple as being lost in a good film or book is a light trace state AKA hypnosis.
What Does Hypnotherapy / Trance Feel Like?
How hypnosis is perceived varies greatly from person to person. The depth of hypnosis also plays an important role.
Some people feel heaviness in hypnosis, others a lightness. What they all have in common, however, is the pleasant feeling of strong relaxation.
Can I Get Stuck in Hypnosis?
Until now, everyone who has been hypnotized has “woken up” again. It is impossible to get stuck in hypnosis, even if the hypnotherapist leaves the room or drops dead. Either you can easily get out of hypnosis, or you first fall into a light sleep, only to wake up a little later. As I said earlier in these FAQs, the state of hypnosis is something natural that we experience every day between sleeping and waking without being aware of it.
By the way, you can’t actually “wake up” from hypnosis, since you don’t even fall asleep. Rather, one simply leaves the mode of complete relaxation again.
Is There A Risk To Being Made To Do Something Against My Will?
No way. This is the biggest misconception about hypnosis. A fateful mistake, which of course is encouraged by films, books or stage hypnosis. There people seem to be doing things that they would never do while awake. In reality, hypnosis does not cause you to fall asleep or faint. You are not paralyzed or have no will, but simply very relaxed.
You are in control and will know what is happening and you would never do anything against your own moral code. If you feel at risk or nervous you will just snap out of it.
My Approach & Philosophy
Hypnotherpay is not about relinquising control, its actually about giving you more control. See the hypnosis FAQs to put your mind at rest where I answer some typical questions for those new to exploring Hypnotherapy.
About 90% of what we do is controlled by our subconscious. Everything we succeed in is supported by our subconscious. For everything that we do not succeed, no program or even a program that prevents success is stored in our subconscious.
With hypnotherapy, desired programs can be stored in the subconscious and obstructive programs can be converted into supportive and promoting programs.
Hypnosis is a completely natural state
Once we are extremely focused and everything else around us is blocked out, we are in a hypnotic state. For example when watching TV, reading or when we feel strong emotions. It is precisely in such strongly focused moments that our subconscious receives its programming from the mind – mostly unnoticed. In hypnotherapy, we consciously bring about this concentrated state in order to store or convert the desired programs. This re-wiring of the brain is based on scientific fact and is called Neuroplasticity.
Hypnosis is very pleasant because your body and mind are deeply relaxed while you are extremely focused and alert at the same time. You will feel extremely comfortable with – hypnosis is wellness for body, mind and soul .
“Make your subconscious a powerful ally!”
Hypnosis is scientifically recognized. It is one of the best scientifically researched therapy methods and is practiced all over the world. Hypnotherapy has been an officially fully recognized independent therapy method since 2006.
